New deviantID with many, many thanks to the incomparable *WilliamSnape who painting this picture of me happily grinning from ear to ear after giving Professor Snape a big !! Willi painted this basing the portrait on posted photographs of me then shipped this to me all the way from Germany! I am so very thankful to have such a beautiful painting hanging on my dining room wall now. What an amazing Christmas gift!
His wife is the absolutely amazing *Vulkanette ~ we all met through our love of all things Harry Potter!
Do stop by Willi's site, *WilliamSnape and wish him well. He had his second spinal surgery today in three months. Having had three spinal surgeries myself, I do know what he is going through. While on his site, be sure to look at his wonderful gallery full of oil painting and his CosPlay. I do love his work.
Many, many thanks to Willi and Irene for their generosity and for being such wonderful dA friends.
Professor Snape and Harry Potter are ™ of J. K. Rowling

Thank you so much. I am so very thrilled with the painting. It looks wonderful on the wall. I'll treasure it always. Willi and Irene are such kind people. Both my husband and I have grandparents that came to the US from Germany, so we feel a very special connection to the country and its people
A very long time ago. In 1970 I went to France then on to Spain. I was studying at various universities at the time and did get to travel to different towns and cities, museums, cathedrals and the like. I got sick and missed the side trip to Italy that a group of other students took. It was a wonderful summer abroad but have never had a chance to go back.
that's wonderfull, so you sniffed up great things. think a lot changed in the way people are now, still the architecture is the same. nonetheless, hope you'll get the oppertunity to visit Europe once more HAPPY NEW YEAR!! here we are 8 hours apart from the new year
I love Alan Rickman, he has really done some great roles ;D He did one creepy strange movie. Closetland. Have you ever seen it? It has the lady from 12 Monkeys and him, sort of a psychological film. Definitely would recommend if you like unusual movies and Alan Rickman. ;D
I haven't seen that movie. I saw "12 Monkeys", but not "Closetland". The first time I saw Rickman he was in a movie with Tom Selleck. It was decades ago! He is just a few years older than I and have watched him in many, many movies since.
Sort of a creepy side of him, but I liked it! Did you see the one with him and Norman Reedus? Double love!!! Name is slipping my mind at the moment though. I'd had a fixation on older movie stars for a bit. Alan Rickman and John Malkovich two of them. Granted they are a generation ahead of me, but they are still damned sexy! hahaha! ;D And they're good actors
It is all about making the roll totally believable, which is what Alan Rickman does. I loved him in "Galaxy Quest", "Sense and Sensibility" and "Diehard". When I become involved in the movie and don't notice the actors but just the characters, then the actors have done an awesome job.
I love John Malkovich. He is always good. "Red" is such a good movie. He makes me laugh, as well as have a healthy fear of the type of man he is.
I do not know who Norman Reedus is. Will have to look him up. Just may not recognize his name!
I wondered if anyone would notice Simba laying on the tree skirt! Steve and I tried to get Storm to get into the picture since he is a black cat and would go with the picture, but he refused to stay nearby
