This is my chair. This is where I draw and/or paint, do crafts, read, watch TiVo or work on the laptop. I pile stuff on the seat so the kitties won't sit in it. I pile stuff on the couch, too, but that isn't always much of a solution; however, I digress: Just wanted to share my chair.
FYI ~ before commenting on "all those" movies, be aware that the ones in view represent about one third of them. The regular tapes are three-rows deep, the larger ones, two deep and the DVDs single-row ~ there is another shelf (out of view) beside the one that is totally full of tapes
We have even more in common than I thought lol. I'm a movie junkie. I can't even count how many I have or how many times I've watched them all over and over again...and barbies! Not to mention barbies..and my chair. No one sits in my chair but me
Exactly! My Chair! I've seen some movies at least 100 times! I have so many stuffed animals, Disney Play sets of all sorts, Disney Plushies and little plastic characters, etc. that it is hard to have enough room to display everything. I have had other collections in my life I got sick of and gave away, but collecting Disney will probably never grow old. Only I will ~ ~ Parks Gal
I finally replaced Poltergeist the oldest VCR movie I had. I paid $30 for it in the early eighties so imagine how much that would be today, but I have watched it probably 150 times. I bought the set of 3 on DVD. I had three sets of Star Wars, the original, the restored set then the added-scenes set. Have $100 wrapped up into those sets, gave the middle one to the little boy next door, and just don't want to purchase it yet again on DVD ! Did replace the Back to the Future series on DVD since the VCR tapes were just worn out. Bear in mind we have had Vans with a TV/VCR for at least twenty years so on long trips the kids would watch tapes and play Atari. The kids weren't spoiled or anything ~ I am just a freak for collecting movies and just ordered seven more from Columbia House. Disney, Disney, Disney. Can never have too much ~ Parks Gal
I have a BIG pile of albums and 45s in the basement. I've given away over 100 of them and still have a huge stack. Have given away loads of cassettes and still have a lot. In the other corner of the living room are two crates of art supplies. I have arts, crafts and painting supplies in several rooms ~ you're right ~ a happy mess is a happy mind ~ Parks Gal
I loved Poltergeist! Wasn't crazy about #2 though. But I love horror movies. When I first started buying DVD's I tried to replace all my old videos but, there was just way tooo many lol. So now I just buy the all time favs if mine. I keep waiting for Disney to bring Beauty and the Beast back out so I can get that on DVD. I might just have to hit ebay or something some day when I have some extra cash to spend I have probably at least 75 dvd's or so and only maybe 10 of them are my hubby's But he's not a movie freak like I am.
I love it, it looks so cosy! I always draw while sitting on my bed, next to my rather large collection of Stephen King, Harry Potter, and dog breed books.
And I thought I had a large movie collection! Wow!
