Traditional drawing using Crayons of Professor Ludwig Von Drake. Made for a project and a contest; the first for a project at =DisneyDreamers "Try Something New" ~ [link] ~ to help get deviants out of their comfort zone and to try something different. The second is for a contest at ~TheVonDrakeSociety called "Crossovers" ~ the description from the club:
This theme is Crossovers. The Professor's latest invention can send him through time and space. You decide where or when; you can even create the invention. Place him in your fave movie, show, game, book or point in history.

Professor Von Drake used to do cartoon shorts for "The Wonderful World of Disney" and often talked about what it would be like in the future. I can assure you the concepts were ridiculous and that "Star Trek" was better at predicting the future, but I digress: Von Drake, also introduced the concept of "color" when TV sets would be able to accept a color signal (it had to be a TV made to accept a color broadcast for those of you born after the age of remote controls) and I used a reference from a still from one of those shows. I actually watched a couple shorts on You-Tube! The glasses are based on the shape of my own glasses.

As viewed in the deviation, the TV Set is the "time machine" and Von Drake's arm is coming out of the TV and pointing to modern electronics, an iPhone and iPod, a mousepad for a MacBook, a Mickey Mouse House with Mickey's name on it and the concept of Walt Disney World, which was built years after Von Drake used to do the shows I mentioned. The little castle and cloud is based on a pin I purchased at WDW.

It is traditional art but the fireworks didn't come out well due to having to use a flash even though I was outside on the back porch, so I added a couple fireworks brushes by ~NoOrdinaryLove to the TV screen. A bit of Faerie dust was added, too, brush by ~rl

A t.v. as the time machine itself? Brilliant!

Yep ~ I got the idea when I was watching the videos of the old shorts on You-Tube. I got to thinking how he used to talk about what the future would be like and if the TV was the time machine he could go forward in time and see for himself what the future would actually be like!
