Using two references on the contest page, a poem by Yeats and a song by Enya, I made this as a representation of an angel coming at the end of the life taking the soul as it blooms into a rose, ergo the name of the deviation "The Desert Rose". The soul, or "Pilgrim" has lived a full life and the mountains are in the back and the Pilgrim is raised to the stars as in the poem. The owl on the caboose looking onto the scene of the angel coming to guide the Pilgrim home represents the learning of the lifetime. The moon is representative on the twilight of one's life. The caboose represents the end of life and in this case, the end of the track so-to-speak. The rose, as eternal life, rises from the desert sand in full bloom and exquisite beauty. People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out; but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light inside.-Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.
W.B Yeats
