There were ten entries into the challenge, so instead of dividing the picks as per the level the entries were submitted into, the administrators of ManipulateThis have chosen their favorites to share:

Brown As The Land ChallengeGROUP NEWS
Before we get started, I want to share something with y0u.
DA decided to switch back to having new deviations come up first when you're looking at a category,  not on the last as it's been for so long. There are deviants who do no remember that the new stock and resources were once posted by newest on the first page.  Did you know that? Well, they've done it.
There are still over used stock in Resources and Stock Images that just get missed because they have been forgotten about. These wonderful stock get stuck in the middle of the pile. As I've already suggested,   I strongly  urge you to not create a deviation using overly used stock. That way your  deviation will look unique and different.
Such as the stock photo below. I love MADmoiselleMeliStock, but she has so many photo stock in her gallery. I had no idea that the one below existed until I used the  "Jump To"  fea

"So Cometh the Winter"

What a wonderful, secret place this artist has created. One feels that this path truly exists. Perspective, blending and lighting-all well done. I note too, that much work had to be done to ensure colors were fitting to the "brown" theme, for example the model's dress which was originally blue. All in all-an excellent piece for the challenge. :)

"Autumn Cry"

Autumn cry by EveBlackwood

This is a poignant, melancholy work that immediately grabs one's attention. The artist has illustrated loss and grief so touchingly. She's used a number of different backgrounds to properly show foreground, middle and backgrounds-all blended well, no easy task. The final touch of the stag crying out-makes this a stand out piece. Great job!

"Wake Up"

Wake up by Rui-Abel

I like the wry bit of humor found in this manip, dark though it may be. Yes, I'd say it IS time to wake up. :) The artist has done a fine job of blending as well as altering original colors in the stock images, particularly the stock model's original blues. Nicely done, and very original concept. Brava!

"Road to a Fairytale"

Road to a Fairytale by cazcastalla

A delightful scene of a school girl day dreaming about fairy tales instead of doing her homework! Quite an imaginative scenario out the "window" of the student's mind.

"The Encounter of the Autumn Fairy"

The use of textures on this entry helps to create an old-fashioned, antique look. It is reminisce of an old postcard! My only suggestion would be to use texture on the model and animal stock in order to tie the entire deviation together. Still, the concept makes good use of the stock and the "old world" look is a stand-out.

Thanks a lot for featuring my work and for the feedback.
I was very pleased to read it.
:-)

Very sorry for the late reply: I saw immediately your journal, and I was simply convinced that I had  left a comment at once.
I realized now that it wasn't so.
