Sailor Moon by ~LuAntunesThis lovely traditional-art drawing of the fan-art character, Sailor Moon, is delicately drawn, right down to the shadow on the cheek. Princess escape by ~Manweri
Princess escape by ~ManweriEven a fairy princess cannot wait for her "Prince Charming"! Not only is this digital work well done with the perfect expression on the dragon's face, and look of fear mixed with hope on the face of the princess as she scales the window in an attempt to escape her tower, it, also illustrates how many people cannot wait for someone else to come along to help out. People have to learn to help themselves. This is an excellent example of taking that chance towards an unknown destiny.
And besides all that, it is a wonderful fantasy piece with crisp details right down to the ivy on the tower and the birds in flight in the sky, as well as a thrill to the heart when one looks at the Dragon and sees his not-too-friendly face peering around a too-small roof that barely holds his scaly body.

This night picture is crisp and clear, but more importantly, it marks the last great shuttle launch of the United States, which will be July 8, 2011. The Space Shuttle Atlantis will mark an end to an advanced era of history. NASA has been running the Space Shuttle Program since April 21,1981, marking 30-years of Space Shuttle Missions, and a career of launches that go back to the later 1960s.

A Storm is Brewing by ~Reckless-Buddah:CATEGORY: Contests / 2010 / Picture Yourself in Wonderland:
This digital work that was for the "Picture Yourself in Wonderland" contest that is now over, has great attention to details. I adore all the cups of tea that show the table in movement since the tea is splashing out of the cups. The young queen is planted on the table obviously pressing down firmly with her hands and feet in order to hold on for dear life. The look of the eyes of the queen is creepy and yet stirring at the same time. The overall hue gives the entire work a dreamy and ethereal look. She looks to be in distress and vulnerable and yet determined at the same time. The tiny crown, the brooch, the pattern on the tablecloth, shows a determination by the artist to provide as much detail as possible, without overwhelming the deviation.

How to Be a Better DeviantHow to Be a Better Deviant
Despite so many of the complaints some people have against it, DeviantART is a very good social network geared specifically towards artists and people who appreciate art. DeviantART is, in fact, one of the very first sites of its kind, predating even such social networking giants as Facebook and Myspace.
It is a wonderful place to share your work, to look at the work other artists have created, to offer and receive advice on artwork, and many other functions. You will find that there are lots of fellow Deviants out there who want the best for you and want to see you excel as an artist and as

How to Be a Better Deviant by =HarmonicSonicCATEGORY: deviantART Related / deviantART Tutorials:
The suggester says of this well-written, precise and thorough treatise on "How to be a Better Deviant", "I've come across a DeviantART-related piece of literature that I think is highly deserving of a DD (and several deviants have commented on the piece expressing similar thoughts). The tutorial-style piece of literature entitled "How to be a Better Deviant" by =HarmonicSonic, is very informative, and I think it pretty accurately addresses a lot of deviants' frustrations with the site; it also promotes a positive attitude, which I think is a very good thing here on dA."

Behind The Mask by *Vulkanette
Behind The Mask by *VulkanetteBeautifully painted in oil on stretched canvas, Hogwarts' Castle is in the background while Snape holds the ethereal mask that demonstrates how he has had to work both sides of the issue to quietly work to help Harry get to his destiny. The painting shows the anguish in Snape's face, as well as the knowledge he probably won't live to see the magical new-world order.
The colors from the glow of the orange sky, to the fog that surrounds the mountain, to the darkness of Snape's robes, the painting illustrates a scene that can vividly stand out in the mind of the viewer, long after the deviation has been viewed.
The final segment of the Harry Potter movie saga is released. Watch it and take in the books in full visual view.

The suggester says of this delightfully wonderful scene that could be in any of the "Toy Story" Pixar Films, " A lovely and tender drawing, like a scene from the movie itself."
The drawings and colors are muted a bit, with the center light coming from the TV, as if the boy has set up his toys to enjoy his favorite TV Show. In Memories of Severus Snape by *WilliamSnape
In Memories of Severus Snape by *WilliamSnapeCATEGORY: Traditional Art/Oil: SPOILER ALERT!! For anyone who hasn't read the books or seen any of the movies, the following is a critical plot point!
Alas, as this touching painting shows, Severus Snape is no longer. Finally Harry could see the truth, but unfortunately, not before Snape was dead. Beautifully done in a dark tone to reveal the darkness that surrounds the subject and the dank place in which he met his demise. The Shrieking Shack, long ago abandoned and in hideous shape not just from years of neglect, but in which the way it was treated by its occupants during the full-moon cycle by Remus and his friends, became an unfitting place to die for an incredibly brave man. Looking closely at the deviation, note the wooden planks as the floor, the broken doors, the slant of the ceiling, the damaged wall.... giving the aura of emptiness, decay and incredible sadness. RIP Severus.

Great Couch Great Dane by ~KonikPolski
Great Couch Great Dane by ~KonikPolskiThe suggester says, "I grew up having a Great Dane. Words can't describe how much these giants can teach you about principles and values that the world seems to forget so often about. They represent an amalgam of opposites: they have such an impressive stature, but they move around you and around everything that you own with an immense care and attention, they have an amazing agility, but they show it only when you nourish their excitement, they have an unimaginable strength, but they act like they are fragile, like babies, most of the times, because they yearn for attention and for love, they know honour and respect and they live by them.
