Even a fairy princess cannot wait for her "Prince Charming"! Not only is this digital work well done with the perfect expression on the dragon's face, and look of fear mixed with hope on the face of the princess as she scales the window in an attempt to escape her tower, it, also illustrates how many people cannot wait for someone else to come along to help out. People have to learn to help themselves. This is an excellent example of taking that chance towards an unknown destiny.
And besides all that, it is a wonderful fantasy piece with crisp details right down to the ivy on the tower and the birds in flight in the sky, as well as a thrill to the heart when one looks at the Dragon and sees his not-too-friendly face peering around a too-small roof that barely holds his scaly body.

This digital work that was for the "Picture Yourself in Wonderland" contest that is now over, has great attention to details. I adore all the cups of tea that show the table in movement since the tea is splashing out of the cups. The young queen is planted on the table obviously pressing down firmly with her hands and feet in order to hold on for dear life. The look of the eyes of the queen is creepy and yet stirring at the same time. The overall hue gives the entire work a dreamy and ethereal look. She looks to be in distress and vulnerable and yet determined at the same time. The tiny crown, the brooch, the pattern on the tablecloth, shows a determination by the artist to provide as much detail as possible, without overwhelming the deviation.

Beautifully painted in oil on stretched canvas, Hogwarts' Castle is in the background while Snape holds the ethereal mask that demonstrates how he has had to work both sides of the issue to quietly work to help Harry get to his destiny. The painting shows the anguish in Snape's face, as well as the knowledge he probably won't live to see the magical new-world order.
The colors from the glow of the orange sky, to the fog that surrounds the mountain, to the darkness of Snape's robes, the painting illustrates a scene that can vividly stand out in the mind of the viewer, long after the deviation has been viewed.

CATEGORY: Traditional Art/Oil: SPOILER ALERT!! For anyone who hasn't read the books or seen any of the movies, the following is a critical plot point!
Alas, as this touching painting shows, Severus Snape is no longer. Finally Harry could see the truth, but unfortunately, not before Snape was dead. Beautifully done in a dark tone to reveal the darkness that surrounds the subject and the dank place in which he met his demise. The Shrieking Shack, long ago abandoned and in hideous shape not just from years of neglect, but in which the way it was treated by its occupants during the full-moon cycle by Remus and his friends, became an unfitting place to die for an incredibly brave man. Looking closely at the deviation, note the wooden planks as the floor, the broken doors, the slant of the ceiling, the damaged wall.... giving the aura of emptiness, decay and incredible sadness. RIP Severus.

Pause and take a look at the beautiful picture. See the small hands reaching towards the kitty that is snuggled in the hand of the woman; take a look a the kitty's tongue going straight up in concentration of trying to stretch the front paw with the claws out to reach for the flawless neck of the laughing woman. Absolutely adorable and a perfect deviantID to demonstrate family fun and togetherness.
Then sadly, on June 25, 2011 he passed away in a horrific way. The family will forever hold him close to their hearts. RIP Henry. A happy, playful and precious kitten. His family will miss him.

Beautifully done, the unicorns play out their battle in a scene that flows from the light into the darkness. The water shows life as it flows into dry, barren land. With each view I see another detail of the battle between Good and Evil.
