I joined Pottermore and have been locked out at the beginning of chapter five with the picture of Diagonal Alley with no idea how to get to the next picture. I have collected objects (not sure if I found everything though), and read everything available, so am not sure what I am doing wrong. Anyhow, please add me as a friend. I am SeerRose29498 ~ there was a choice for a cauldron name, too, that wasn't so bad, but thought SeerRose would be easier to remember.
Thank you and you're welcome! I found out I must use the desktop or laptop to use the Pottermore site effectively. The iPad doesn't support flash. The site is really fun to go through. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, which was a surprise to me. I thought for sure I would be Hufflepuff or Gryffindore.
Wonderful! I accepted the request. The site is exciting. One of my brothers is ten-years older than I and he loves HP. The trouble is he is such a Luddite he doesn't know the first thing about computers. His wife just got him a Nook and he has issues with that! And he doesn't have a cell phone. Wish he would join Pottermore but that just isn't going to happen. Both he and his wife and my hubby and I will celebrate 40-years of marriage this October, and it would be so nice to celebrate by seeing Hogwarts at Univsal!
Wow, I could never imagine my life without the Internet. I guess I'm just too modernized. My grandfather (83 years of age) only uses a cell phone (which he needs for work, otherwise he wouldn't use that either). He certainly does not understand my love for the Internet.
Also, congratulations on such a long time being married! I've been to Universal Studios in Orlando and I've experienced the Harry Potter part of the park. The ride is great (but with a long line, usually) and they've brought in a few shops like Ollivander's and Honeydukes. The only downside is the merchandise is kind of expensive.
Oh, and I will be going on a school field trip to Magic Kingdom next weekend. When I heard about it, I immediately thought of you.
Gift giving tip, Favorite a place where you collect a lot of things. Try to remember what is there, give those as gifts, come back and collect again! I have tested this twice. I just gave you a rock cake from Hagrid's Hut. Not sure if you can have qty's or not. But I re-collected it. You can have qty's of potion ingredients. Not sure about frog cards. I want to collect them all before I gift any and see if they are re-collectable.
Good advice! I wasn't sure what the point of faving a page was, but now I know! Thanks for the gift, too. Will see what all I can collect then recollect. There is an awful lot to learn about Pottermore. I cannot fathom how much it cost to get it up and running!!!
I saw that art can be posted. Didn't realize not all the books were not active yet! Not sure how the art loading works, but you could go ahead and post your work. There is so much to learn on Pottermore... It may take me the rest of my life to figure it all out!
I do understand. I have my two dA accounts, plus all the groups I admin, Pottermore, Subsonic Radio, JPeg and Photobucket, then I have a subscriptions to many podcasts and blogs. It is difficult to keep up with all of the sites!
For each page make sure you zoom in twice and look around each zoom for things to collect. I would try to move my mouse around everywhere and still missed things! Potions are really frickin' hard. I've already managed to blow up one of my cauldrons. Any potion ingredients you find are renewable after you use them. You just have to go back to the page you found them and get them again. Ones you don't find can be bought in diagon alley.
I haven't used the desktop yet to try the site. I see now the iPad is limited with the stylus and lack of arrow keys. How many items can be on a page? I have 8 things in my chest so far.
Will see the eye surgeon in the morning. Still have issues with flashes, black and white dots that look like patterns. Wednesday is the new doctor then will get his referral for the specialist. The insurance is certainly convoluted for being so stingy about payouts.
If you're at Diagon Alley, zoom in once (not all the way to Gringotts), there should be a person standing in the middle of the road with a cloak on. On the ground is a piece of paper (your shopping list) that you need in order to proceed to Gringotts. I got hung up at the same spot!
